Executive Director Message

In fact, people have shared their experiences of direct bias, implicit bias, stereotyping, and discrimination many times over at events like Conversations on Race. We are not immune to racism, but we will face it-in whatever form it takes-so that we can become a community of upstanders. We know that our claim to being welcoming and inclusive has to be more than a promise. There is no single program, event, training, or tool kit that will prevent all instances of bias, but we promise to work consistently to help individuals and institutions value and appreciate racial and cultural differences, view diversity as a benefit, interact respectfully, and to advocate for change when we identify failures in equity for all members of the community.
