Title: Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance
Location: Prospect Church, corner of Prospect and Tuscan, Maplewood, NJ
Description: The Coalition on Race invites the entire community to reflect on and celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday January 16, 2012 from 3 pm to 4 pm at Prospect Presbyterian Church, 646 Prospect St., Maplewood NJ 07040. The guest speaker is Khalil Gibran Muhammad, current director of the Schomberg Center in Harlem and new resident of South Orange. Participants will enjoy musical selections by the Voices in Harmony Choir and selected readings from faith communities represented locally. This is an opportunity to actively participate in re-affirming the commitment to build and sustain inclusive community and to serve our own “Beloved Community”.
A Volunteer Fair and reception will immediately follow the observance at the Prospect in Fellowship Hall.
